“ Ate here the final day of our trip! Very cool indoor lighting and I think they have a little outdoor patio. The samosas appetizer was a must get, very flavorful and doesn't just taste like a fried food. My husband ordered the sweet and sour, his friend ordered a rice dish level 5 heat and I ordered mango curry level 2 heat. They take the heat order seriously here! I've ordered level 5s in other establishments that are hotter than this level 2 so I'm very impressed that they won't shy away from serving the spice. The dish presentation was fabulous, and gave plenty of portion for the price. I usually order pineapple curry but have never had mango curry before so had to try it. I was surprised the mango was not served in chunks or blended into the sauce, it was hard and cut into thin strips like a vegetable. I'll have to find another mango curry to compare, but the curry taste was familiar! ”
“ I have been here several times for dine in and have never been disappointed. The location is legit in someone's home so it has a very comfortable feel. If you get the chance when it's warm sit outside in the back patio. There are statues and flowers and a large fountain. It is absolutely beautiful. The service has always been very polite and helpful. I highly recommend the flower tea and the spicy noodle. Their curries are delicious as well. ”
“ HUGE portions on the noodle dishes for a great price. Loved the soup promotion currently going on. Had Phad Thai and Phad See Eaw which were both very tasty. Really easy and quick process for takeout and they are located in a very interesting historic building with apartments. I’d be here way too often if I lived in that building. ”
“ I've been wanting to eat at Nicky's for quite a while, and we were lucky to come across it on the way to a different restaurant! Delicious!! We had crispy egg rolls, delicate and just the right amount of filing. Thai iced coffee, and mango juice, mmm, hit the spot. Green curry, with chicken-3 spice, and it was pretty spicy, but perfect. Shrimp red chili, 2 spice, great flavor and a little spicy...one of the 3 dishes recommended by waitress, and so happy I ordered it. Ginger beef, very tasty, lots of ginger and garlic, and beef was tender. All meals came with steamed rice, and a crab Rangoon on top of rice...I WILL order a side of Rangoon next time!! By far the best I ever had! All of our food was delicious, service was pleasant and tentative, and atmosphere was quaint. (Could have been a little cooler inside, but would not keep me from going back) Can't wait to go back! ”
“ Imagine someone driving you down a gravel road in an old car. The road cuts through a farmers fields of Low growing Vegetables. You put the window down and smell the air, a cow turns to watch you pass in the distance. That is the beef noodle. It was wonderful. The staff were very attentive, a small shop but ran by people who care and keep it very clean. Nice portions, the price is worth it. ”
“ I love this place! Absolutely beautiful ambiance with a menu and food to match. Short take: highly, highly recommended. This was the next stop on our getting-to-know-Pittsburgh tour. It was recommended by one of my partner's new coworkers, and I will be sure to take all of her advice moving forward. From the moment you enter, you walk down a long narrow hall to where the host is waiting. You get the feeling you've walked through a portal into a secret world. The indoor dining room is elegant and beautifully lighted, amazing art on the walls. Leaving the indoor dining, you walk down a narrow sidewalk lined with fountains and Thai sculptures and find your way back to the outdoor dining area. Even though spacious, the placement of plants and statues gives it an intimate feel. The menu has too many interesting choices! It's the kind of place you know you'll need to visit again to try everything. We ordered the crispy fried red snapper with bok choy, and went traditional with the pad thai for our second dish. They were both amazing! You can choose your level of spiciness from 1 (mild) to 5 (HAWT!). We went in the middle with a 3 and that was plenty hot for us. We might step down to 2 next time. The portions were very large and we got at least two more meals out of what we took home. They don't serve alcohol but there's an interesting looking beer place across the street that we may check out next time. ”
“ I love Nicky’s Thai but it was my first time at this location. The food is always amazing and the service is great. I love the outdoor seating area! ”
“ We've been wanting to eat at Nicky's for AGES. We're so glad we finally got the chance to experience it! Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and so very colorful. The portions are also super generous! ”
